If the suit is won the judge will also ascertain fees paid to the attorney. These are generally over and above the settlement reward amount, and unless we agree to pay the attorney a portion of the overall settlement (which we will work to avoid) then the attorney receives none of that amount. OffRecord and the attorneys will work on a contingency basis, which means they are only paid if the case is won. OffRecord will work to minimize all fees beyond the attorney, but should any arise, they will subtracted from the settlement amount.
The reporting individual should consider maintaining their confidentiality even after they win, as most will want to continue their career path and not be labeled or black labeled by other organizations. Despite the legitimacy and good deed you have done, your action may be met with jealousy and malcontent from others. Maintaining confidentiality will have a higher likelihood of allowing you to finish your career path at that organization, and pursuing other opportunties beyond it. It may also be beneficial to simply not mention it to anyone to maintain the sanctity of your relationships in the community and other environments. Remember, many will greatly appreciate what you have done, but there will always be those who feel otherwise; sharing the informatoin presents little upside and over time, merely opens you to potential problems. In the end, it is up to the individual to continue to maintain their own confidentiality.
How Payment is Made?
OffRecord will divide the settlement amount equally with the reporting individual, net of costs, and will, if desired by the individual, work to find a confidential manner in which to pay the person who has reported the violation through OffRecord. OffRecord has every intent to ensure all costs if possible are minimized as much as possible, if not eliminated - as OffRecord is completely aligned with you on the reward. As noted in other places on this site, lawyer fees are generally paid over and above the reward fees. It is possible however that some nominal services could be needed to assemble, organize or collate the evidence or legal filings, where some fees may exist. Such things could be auditors, investigators, adminstrative help as examples, whose fees could be deducted from the settlement before dividing the rewards between you and ourselves. However, OffRecord will do its best to minimize or eliminate these costs where-ever it can. Our goal is to maximize the payment to you as much as possible.
Can Reward be Donated?
Some individuals do not desire to be rewarded for righting these wrongs, however, they may want the dollars to be donated to a not for profit or gifted to another individual of their choice. If you desire to have your half of the reward donated to a not for profit or other entity, OffRecord will ensure this they receive the amount you have donated in full, as soon as possible after the capital is received by OffRecord. We will not associate your name with this donation in any way unless you ask us to do so.

If an individual is from a foreign country or residing in a foreign country, OffRecord will do its best to get you the dollars in the most convenient way that you request, but always doing so within the confines of following US and International laws and requirements.
